A bad ending to a bad road trip, the Avs put up a poor effort tonight in Vancouver losing 3-1 to the Canucks. The Avs broke Luongo's shutout with 7 seconds left, the lone bright spot in the game. The worst part about this one was that the Avs actually played a decent game, they just couldn't score on Luongo. In the past the Canucks pushed around the Avs, winning almost every time the two teams meet. The Avs outshot the Canucks 29-21, and for the 1st 2 periods seemed to be keeping the Canucks at bay. The Canucks got all 3 goals from the Santorelli-Kesler-Higgins line, with Santorelli scoring in the 1st and then Kesler scoring in the 3rd followed by Santorelli's 2nd goal. The Sedins were a non-factor tonight, but so was the Avs top 2 lines. The only players that seemed to show up tonight were Max Talbot and John Mitchell. The Avs top 2 lines have been struggling the last few games, and when that happens you can see the Avs play much worse. Matt Duchene hasn't looked the same since his oblique injury and the Avs need him to get going. Bottom line is the Avs need to change up their strategy against the Canucks, they can't keep losing games against them. The Avs drop to 20-8-0 on the season, and end their 3-game Canadian road trip 1-2.
