The Coyotes got some revenge against the Avs after they won 4-3 in OT last time, as they defeated the Avs 3-1 thanks to 3 2nd period goals. This is now 2 straight losses for the Avs, and 3 losses in the last 4 games. The Avs are missing 3 key parts of their lineup: Alex Tanguay, Jan Hejda and Ryan Wilson. Especially Hejda and Wilson, the Avs d is really playing awful since they lost Hejda in Edmonton and looks like the Avs of the past. The Avs have also had a tough time scoring lately, Only 7 goals in their last 4 games. Since returning from injury Matt Duchene hasn't been the same, something makes me think that he is still hurting. The Avs pressed in the first, but couldn't beat Greiss. The score remained 0-0 after the 1st, with the shots 11-9 for the Avs. Things opened up in the 2nd period, as Antoine Vermette opened the scoring om the PP. Four minutes later the Coyotes made it 2-0 when Jordan Szwarz scored his 2nd goal of the season. The Avs would cut the lead in half 2 minutes later, as Patrick Bordeleau scored his 4th goal of the season. However the Coyotes would regain their 2 goal lead 1 minute later, with Vermette scoring his 2nd. The score was 3-1 heading into the intermission, shots were 11-7 for Phoenix in the 2nd. The Avs pressed in the 3rd, but couldn't beat Greiss. Overall another dismal performance by the Avs, who have falled into a tough spot the last few weeks and need to turn things around.

Three Stars:
3. Keith Yandle - Yandle had an assist and was great on defense all night for the Coyotes.
2. Thomas Greiss - Greiss way the key in the win for the Coyotes, making 28 saves on 29 shots.
1. Antoine Vermette - Vermette scored the 1st and last goals of the game.

Game #30 - The Avs look to get things fixed on the road with a game against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night (@8PM ET)
